Ghanaian Journalist released after 14 days in Jail

Power FM presenter Oheneba Boamah Bennie, who was arrested for contempt of court, has been released from the Nsawam prison after serving his 14-day jail term.

An Accra High Court sentenced the host of Battle Ground to prison custody for 14 days for contempt of court on Tuesday, February 8.

The court presided over by Justice Elfreda Dankyi also fined the broadcaster an amount of GH¢3,000.

On Monday morning, some members of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) stormed the Nsawam Prison to welcome the broadcaster back from prison.

General Manager for Power FM Mugabe Maase, who led a team from XYZ Broadcasting, said his colleague was in high spirit and was ready to host Battle Ground Monday night.
