The Federation of Associations of Ghanaian Exporters (FAGE) recorded $5 billion in export revenue in 2025 and is targeting $10 billion before 2030.

FAGE President Davies Narh Korboe said the federation had initially expected the $5 billion mark to be achieved in 2026 but surpassed the target a year earlier.

He said FAGE is now focused on addressing key gaps in financing, research, marketing, quality and technology to help Ghana increase its export earnings.

“We’ve been able to do from the 3.8 billion, we did $5 billion in 2025. Expecting that that $5 billion would have been done in 2026, but we managed to cross to 2025, hoping that the 2030 $10 billion expected figure, we are hoping to achieve it before 2030,” Mr Korboe said.

He made the remarks at a media soiree in Accra ahead of the Ghana Horticulture Expo 2026, which is expected to bring together policymakers, industry players, farmers, financial institutions and young entrepreneurs.

According to him, the expo slated for September 3 to 5, is intended to provide a platform for stakeholders to identify practical solutions to challenges limiting Ghana’s agricultural and export potential.

“There are still gaps, and that’s the more reason why we’re hoping to convene at the La Palm Convention Center from the 3rd to 5th September to address those gaps through the Horticulture Expo,” he said.

The expo, themed “From soil to sovereignty: Building Ghana’s agricultural self-reliance,” will also focus on trade, investment, innovation, value addition and access to international markets.

Mr Korboe said FAGE is also seeking government reforms to make financing more accessible to players across the agricultural value chain.

He proposed the establishment of a special purpose vehicle to provide single-digit interest rates for agriculture, value addition and exports.

The FAGE President further called for measures to encourage more young people to enter agriculture, describing the youth as critical to the future growth of the sector.
