Chelsea striker Liam Delap could be heading for the Stamford Bridge exit this summer, with Nottingham Forest emerging as the latest Premier League club interested in the England youth international.

The 23-year-old joined Chelsea from Ipswich for £30 million last summer but struggled to make a significant impact during his first season in west London.

Delap managed only one Premier League goal and two goals in all competitions during an injury-hit campaign.

Chelsea are now reportedly prepared to part ways with the forward as new manager Xabi Alonso reshapes his squad.

The arrival of Danny Welbeck has increased competition for places in attack, while Chelsea also have Joao Pedro and Nicolas Jackson among their options.

According to news report Chelsea are seeking around £40 million for Delap, a figure that would allow the club to make a £10 million profit on the striker.

Newcastle and Everton have previously shown interest, although neither club has made a concrete offer. Nottingham Forest have now joined the chase as they consider adding another striker following Taiwo Awoniyi’s expected departure.

Italian side Como, managed by former Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas, are also interested and could offer Delap Champions League football. However, the striker reportedly prefers to remain in the Premier League.

Delap impressed during his time at Ipswich, scoring 12 league goals in the 2024/25 campaign. A move away from Chelsea could therefore give him an opportunity to regain his confidence and regular playing time while continuing to push for a senior England call-up.
