Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has described Jude Bellingham as a highly demanding player, saying the England international’s attitude is one of the qualities he appreciates most.

Mourinho made the comments after Real Madrid produced a commanding 4-0 victory over Malaga in their latest LaLiga fixture on Sunday.

Bellingham was among the goalscorers as Madrid dominated the visitors. Kylian Mbappe and Arda Guler also found the net, while Malaga conceded an own goal through Alfonso Herrero.

Speaking during his post-match press conference, Mourinho highlighted Bellingham’s high standards and his willingness to expect the same level of commitment from those around him.

According to the Portuguese manager, Bellingham’s demanding nature extends beyond his own performance, as he also challenges his teammates to maintain a high standard.

Mourinho said he particularly values that mentality, suggesting it contributes positively to the competitive environment within the squad.

The manager also addressed Bellingham’s defensive responsibilities during the game. Mourinho revealed that he had previously spoken with the midfielder about his tendency to drop deep and perform defensive duties similar to those of a left-back.

Although Bellingham has demonstrated his willingness to contribute defensively, Mourinho appears keen to ensure that the midfielder’s positioning allows him to have a greater influence further up the pitch.
