Barcelona have turned down an opening offer from Paris Saint-Germain for Spanish forward Ferran Torres, with the French champions reportedly proposing around €40 million for the 26-year-old.

According to a source within the Catalan club, discussions between the two sides are still continuing despite Barcelona rejecting the initial proposal.

Spanish media reports have also suggested that Torres has already reached an agreement in principle to join PSG, where he could reunite with former Spain manager Luis Enrique.

Torres’ future at Barcelona has attracted increased attention because his current contract expires in June 2027.

The forward has remained cautious when discussing his next move, acknowledging that although he remains under contract, circumstances in football can change quickly.

The Spanish international joined Barcelona from Manchester City in 2021 in a deal worth more than €55 million.

Since Hansi Flick became Barcelona manager in 2024, Torres has increasingly operated as a centre-forward, providing competition and cover for Robert Lewandowski.

Despite not always being a regular starter, Torres has continued to make an impact. Over the past two seasons, he has scored 40 goals in 94 appearances across all competitions.

His stock rose further after the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he scored Spain’s decisive goal in extra time against Argentina in the final. The victory secured Spain’s second World Cup title.

With negotiations reportedly ongoing, PSG could return with an improved proposal as Barcelona consider whether to retain the forward or allow him to leave during the current transfer window.
