Ampem Darkoa thrash Dynamique to reach WAFU B Champions League final

THU, 03 SEP 2026

Ghanaian champions Ampem Darkoa Ladies booked their place in the 2026 WAFU B Women’s Champions League qualifying final with a commanding 4-1 victory over Benin’s Dynamique FC on Wednesday.

A brace from Milot Pokuaa inspired Charles Anokye’s side to a comfortable semi-final win, setting up a final against Nigeria’s Edo Queens on Saturday in a repeat of their last Group B meeting.

Ampem Darkoa dominated from the opening whistle and nearly took the lead inside the first minute, but Pokuaa’s early effort was denied by the Dynamique goalkeeper.

The breakthrough came in the 16th minute after the Ghanaian side patiently built from the back before Pokuaa raced through on goal and finished confidently from close range.

Pokuaa turned provider 12 minutes later, setting up Rebecca Assemani to double the advantage before Beline Nyarko teed up Gloria Adomako for Ampem Darkoa’s third, with Adomako netting her second goal of the tournament after also scoring in the opening group game.

Dynamique briefly threatened a comeback when they pulled one back with a fine strike two minutes into the second half.

Any hopes of a revival were quickly extinguished as Pokuaa struck again to restore her side’s three-goal cushion and complete her brace.

Captain Victoria Bangui had the chance to make it five late on but saw her penalty saved as Ampem Darkoa comfortably sealed their return to the tournament final.

The Ghanaian champions will now take on Edo Queens on Saturday, 5 September, with a place in the CAF Women’s Champions League at stake.
