Carter Efe, Speed Darlington To Clash In Celebrity Boxing Showdown
Content creator Oderhohwo Joseph Efe, better known as Carter Efe, and controversial singer Darlington Okoye, popularly known as Speed Darlington, are set to face off in a celebrity boxing match on October 1, 2026.
The bout, announced via Instagram by Balmoral Promotions, will take place at the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos and will be streamed live on DAZN.
The event, tagged ‘Chaos in the Ring’, has been billed as a no-excuses showdown between two African stars, where the ring will decide who stands tall.
The post read:
“IT’S OFFICIAL! CARTER VS SPEED. Two African stars. One ring. No excuses. On October 1, the ring decides who stands tall. Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos. Live on @daznboxing. This isn’t just a fight. It is CHAOS! #ChaosInTheRing #BalmoralPromotions #October1st #Boxing”
The Nigerian Voice recalls that the celebrity boxing scene has been a source of drama and controversy.
In a previous event, controversial singer Portable opened up on his fight with actor Charles Okocha on Friday, July 31, explaining why he walked out of their rematch at the Balmoral Convention Centre. Portable claimed that Okocha bit him on the back and locked his neck tightly during the match, insisting that the bout was a celebrity fight, not a street fight.
He also alleged that the organisers had promised to take him to London for training but only took Okocha.
The rivalry between Portable and Okocha dates back to 2023, when Portable accused the actor of cheating him out of about N40 million in a business deal. Portable won their first encounter, but Okocha activated a rematch clause, leading to the controversial outcome, which Okocha emerged victorious.
Additionally, Carter Efe had previously defeated Portable in a highly publicised celebrity boxing match at Chaos in the Ring 4, dethroning him as the “Celebrity Boxing King.”
