LGombe United have officially confirmed the appointment of Muniru Abdul-Azeez as their new technical adviser, with the coach already formally introduced to the club’s supporters and stakeholders.

The move comes after an earlier arrangement fell through. According to reports, the NNL side had initially reached terms with Eddy Dombraye for the same position before pulling out of that deal and turning instead to Abdul-Azeez.

The newly appointed tactician arrives at Gombe United carrying a solid reputation built on years of experience within Nigerian domestic football, along with a track record that speaks to his capabilities as a leader on the technical bench.

Abdul-Azeez’s coaching journey includes a stint with El-kanemi Warriors, where he played a key role as part of the technical setup that steered the club to NPFL promotion back in 2012.

His resume also features a President Federation Cup triumph in 2024, further cementing his standing among Nigeria’s respected football tacticians.

Prior to joining the Savannah Scorpions, Abdul-Azeez was in charge at DMD FC, where he delivered impressive results by guiding the side up from the Nationwide League One into the Nigeria National League during the 2025/26 campaign a feat that likely influenced Gombe United’s decision to bring him on board.
