Ghana will face either Togo or Libya in the second round of the qualifiers for the 2027 CAF U-23 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

The draw has placed Ghana against the winner of the first-round tie between Togo and Libya, with the two nations set to meet in September.

The first round is scheduled for 20 September, with the return legs taking place on 6 October.

Ghana’s second-round tie will be played over two legs, with the first leg scheduled for 9 November and the return leg on 17 November.

The Black Meteors will need to overcome the winner of the Togo-Libya tie to progress in the qualifying campaign and keep their hopes of reaching the 2027 U-23 AFCON alive.

Other notable second-round ties include Nigeria against either Mauritania or DR Congo, Senegal against Djibouti or South Sudan, Morocco against Ethiopia or Uganda, Cameroon against Rwanda or Sudan, and South Africa against Comoros or Madagascar.

The 2027 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations will be hosted by Egypt and will also serve as the qualifying tournament for the men’s football competition at the 2028 Olympic Games.

The second-round fixtures are scheduled for November, with the first legs on 9 November and the return matches on 17 November.
