I am putting myself forward to lead a team of Nigerians in the capacity of Chairman Board of Trustees, providing strategic direction for the European arm of the official Nigerian Diaspora body called Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation (NIDO). Reflecting, as I should do, on how I wish to do such important job at this time in Nigeria’s history, I took a journey down memory lane to all the efforts invested over the years by good men and women of NIDO Europe. They toiled for the organization to become an alternative platform for sustainable social economic development of Nigeria. I can only be grateful for the selfless services of these founding members and all the stakeholders that have sustained the organization till date. (This one is for you).

Edo 2016: Obiano, Labaran, Umeh, Shinkafi amongst others drums support for Osaro Onaiwu's Solution Agenda.
BENIN-CITY: The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Gubernatorial Candidate for the September 10 governorship election in Edo State, Earl Osaro Onaiwu has officially flagged-off his campaign. The event which was held on Saturday 30th July, 2016 at the Urhokpota Hall, King Square, Benin-City was well attended by thousands of residents, supporters and party faithful’s across the State and beyond.
The Executive Governor of Anambra State and National Leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Willie Obiano led a delegation of party chieftains to the event to show solidarity for the Osaro Onaiwu Solution Agenda.
As politicians in Edo State struggle to outshine one another in the build up to the forthcoming September 10th governorship election, Edo people must be vigilant to avoid the deceit that has become the attribute of many a politician and ensure the election of the best candidate. The narrative in informed circle across the state captures this sentiment and the need to return Edo to its glorious past.
It is unfortunate that even the modest infrastructure which Edo inherited upon its creation in 1991 has so lost value that one wonders whether successive governments have been asleep. Take the roads in Benin the capital city for instance; there is hardly any in the main city without deep gullies. Even where you manage to find a tarred road, be rest assured that the adjoining streets will be no better than swamps. Driving in Edo during this raining season is particularly hellish for motorists.
As Edo State prepares for a transition from one government to another, the protagonist are preparing for battle and one man that stands out clearly in the crowd, is Mr. Godwin Obaseki of APC. One of our correspondents in Nigeria did take a look at his profile for our Diaspora audience to know the man who is destiny to be the next Governor of Edo State of Nigeria.
He had his early education in St. Matthews Anglican Primary School Benin City and Eghosa Anglican Grammar School, Benin City and later attended the University of Ibadan, Columbia University and Pace University in New York. He has a BA in Classics and MBA in Finance and International Business.
Not until the reported abduction of over 200 young school girls from #Chibok in Borno State, North-East Nigeria in April, 2014, the menace of the Boko-Haram insurgency in Northern Nigeria never gained prominence in global discuss. The #BringBackOurGirls awareness campaign on the Social Media sparked an international outrage and pressure on the Nigerian Government and the Western world to get their acts together to secure the release of the abducted school girls.
