Chelsea’s pursuit of Lamine Camara has hit a snag, with Monaco turning down an offer worth £38.5m for the midfielder as the Blues scramble to line up cover following Enzo Fernandez’s exit.

Undeterred by the knockback, Chelsea have shifted attention toward alternative targets, with talks reportedly underway with Roma over a potential £52m move for Manu Kone.

That deal, however, faces resistance of its own, as Roma manager Gian Piero Gasperini is said to be keen on holding onto the midfielder rather than letting him leave.

Sky Sports had previously flagged Camara as one of Chelsea’s priority midfield targets heading into deadline day, underlining just how central he is to their rebuilding plans.

Elsewhere in the Premier League, Arsenal are also busy trimming their squad. Young talent Ethan Nwaneri looks set for a temporary switch to Borussia Dortmund, with reports from transfer insider Fabrizio Romano confirming a season-long loan agreement has been verbally reached between the two clubs.

According to Romano, Nwaneri gave his approval to the move overnight, and Dortmund have agreed to cover his wages entirely for the duration of the loan spell.

In addition to Nwaneri’s expected departure, Arsenal have also struck an agreement to part ways with Fabio Vieira, who is closing in on a switch to German side Hamburg.

The transfer, worth an estimated £7.7m, would bring an end to the Portuguese midfielder’s time at the Emirates as the north London club continues reshaping their squad before the transfer window slams shut.
