Uche African Art Foundation exhibits at AFWA in KIT Amsterdam from 28-31 August 2015
Young African artists make some fantastic work, many talented people however do not get the exposure or possibilities they need to be able to exhibit and sell their work to an audience that is willing and able to buy and invest in their art. UAAF, a non-profit organization, aims at linking these artists in Africa and buyers in the Netherlands to offer these young artists a better chance for using and keeping their talents.
“Uche”, an Igbo word denoting “Will”, “wish” or “mind”, has in mind to fulfil wishes, offering a platform for these young aspiring artists, helping them to fulfil their aspirations and helping them to exploit their talents.
The purpose of the foundation is to provide a platform for African artists, support them and help find a market for their products.
Uche Africa Art Foundation has been working hard to be able to get underway to achieving it’s aims of supporting African artists. We will show some of the work we have identified and show the stories of some of the artists we have connected with.
The exhibition will take place during the Africa Fashion Week Amsterdam. There is a wonderful synergy between fashion and art and we hope that many people who feel for Africa and its art will be able to enjoy the works and be able to get to know the Foundation and perhaps take the opportunity to invest in art and the artists. The event will take place from 28-30 August in the KIT in Amsterdam. The works will be on display from 10 in the morning until 10 in the evening.
We hope you take the opportunity to visit us and see for yourself. Please check the website of AFWA for the exact address details and the entrance fees for the fashion show and other events taking place around the Fashion week.
